It was the type of email that I love at the end of a long, annoying day. “Would you mind test-driving a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots for the site?” Upscale mom site Elizabeth Street was looking for glamour moms to craft three looks from Stuart Weitzman’s 50/50 boot, a sporty over the knee boot that was the embodiment of fashion meets function. No, I didn’t mind. I invited a friend over and we shot a few vignettes.

Look #1: Power Print
I’m a huge fan of slouchy chic. The key? The volume on top must be countered with a streamlined bottom. Here, I’ve layered black skinny jeans and a tank with a flowy Zero Maria Cornejo vest over a lightweight black jersey jacket. A Kara Ross bubble necklace and assorted black and gold bangles adds some light to the look. The boots and an old-school Gucci bag add polish and elongate the silhouette.
Look #2: On the Go Chic
I’m back in black (my go-to color) with a tailored pony hair and leather Akris blazer, skinny jeans and my chic over-the knee boots. It’s the kind of sophisticated urban equestrian look that can effortlessly transition from day to night. As a working mom, I frequently go from office to school pick-up and out to dinner without time to change. My red quilted Tod’s bag adds a pop of color and texture to the monochromatic palette.
Look #3: Glamour Mom
We entertain a lot. For a dose of easy glamour, I tossed on a silver David Szeto lame evening jacket over a Dior tunic and black leggings. The slim cut, over-the-knee boot lends a luxe pirate element to the look. Its one-inch heel is the perfect marriage of fashion and function as it elongates my leg and allows me to run back and forth to refresh my guests’ drinks.
