The Best Ice Cream Pop Up In Chicago Is At The James Hotel

David Burke’s Primehouse at The James Hotel is known for massive steaks and classic, gut expanding sides. But, for summer, the restaurant veers from its meat and potato repertoire with a super cool ice cream program, a Friday afternoon Pop Up ice cream shop located within the hotel’s smack-in-the-middle-of-everything Rush Street lobby. To keep things interesting, flavors are rotated weekly and announced on Wednesdays via Primehouse social media platforms. What’s new? This summer Executive Pastry Chef Amanda Warren is putting a fresh spin on things by introducing ice cream floats complete with artisan soda served in a handy, dandy to-go cup. Sample floats: Reverse Root Beer Float – root beer sorbet, Goose Island vanilla cream soda, whipped cream, Orange Creamsicle – vanilla candied orange ice cream, Goose Island orange cream soda, whipped cream, candied orange and  Red, White & Blueberry – lemon granité with blueberry compote, strawberry sorbet, berry lemonade soda, strawberry whipped cream (ummm, guess when that patriotic mélange will be served?)
